iKonia
A student community platform for Konya — feed, venue guide, listings, academic resources and cultural events in one place, with a gamified XP & GençCoin layer. Rebuilt from a Figma Make prototype into a responsive web + mobile product.

01
The idea
Students in Konya juggle WhatsApp groups, Instagram pages and notice boards to find a quiet café, a flatmate, last year’s exam papers or what’s on this weekend. iKonia brings all of this into one student-only community and rewards people for contributing to it.
02
What I did
I took an AI-generated Figma Make prototype and turned it into a production-ready design: audited 25+ states, rebuilt every screen natively in Figma on a token-based design system (colour and spacing variables, Inter type scale, 90 icons, 30+ components) and designed a matching mobile version — 77 screens across 11 flows.
03
Audit & standards
The prototype worked but wasn’t consistent: duplicated actions on cards, a different filter pattern on every page, a floating mobile tab bar, a profile showing someone else’s posts and Istanbul content in a Konya app. I set clear rules — one post card for every content type, one info box for listings, venues and files, one filter pattern — and fixed each case.
04
Design process
Desktop uses a collapsible side nav, a sticky header with XP progress and a content + context layout. Mobile swaps to a bottom tab bar, sticky action bars on detail screens and bottom sheets for create, filters and AI search. Gamification (XP, roles, badges, GençCoin) lives in success moments rather than on a separate page.

05
What I learned
Starting from a generated prototype is fast, but the real work is the system underneath. Defining tokens and components first made it possible to cover web and mobile, empty, loading and success states without the screens drifting apart.
